Job description

OVERVIEW

JOB TITLE: Music Department Assistant

LOCATION: St. Paul Campus

PAY RATE: $16.50/hour

HOURS: TBD

JOB SUMMARY 

The Music Office Assistant works with the Department Coordinator with necessary tasks that help keep the Music Department running smoothly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Create student recital programs 
  • Work in Canva to design ensemble concert programs and posters, student recital digital posters, and general informational posters for the Department 
  • Monitor the Music Dept. email and respond to communication as needed 
  • Answer the Music Dept. phone and respond to voicemail as needed 
  • Help sort and deliver mail 
  • Maintain piano humidifiers (year-round) and room humidifiers (heating season) 
  • Make copies, run on-campus errands, and help with tasks for Music faculty as requested 
  • Assist with setup and tear-down of occasional music workshops 
  • Submit hours on a bi-weekly timesheet for payment processing 
  • Other tasks as needed/assigned 
QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Student must be actively involved in the Music program 
  • Student should possess working knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Music major or minor is preferred 

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
