The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The Part-Time Multimedia Assistant / Content Producer supports the Public Relations Marketing team by creating engaging digital content that enhances brand awareness, promotes organizational initiatives, and drives audience engagement. This role is responsible for capturing, editing, and producing photo, video, and multimedia content for use across social media platforms, websites, email campaigns, digital advertising, and public relations efforts.

As a Multimedia Assistant, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people in San Antonio. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Capture high-quality photos and videos of animals, guests, staff, events, programs, and behind-the-scenes activities.
  • Edit and produce multimedia content for social media, website, email marketing, digital advertising, and public relations initiatives.
  • Assist in developing content calendars and multimedia storytelling strategies.
  • Create short-form and long-form video content optimized for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Support live event coverage through photography, videography, and real-time social media content creation.
  • Collaborate with marketing, education, animal care, development, and guest experience teams to identify and capture compelling stories.
  • Organize and maintain digital media assets, ensuring proper file management and archiving.
  • Assist with graphic design projects, promotional materials, and digital content as needed.
  • Stay current on social media trends, emerging platforms, and content best practices.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand standards and organizational messaging.
  • Assist with special marketing campaigns, media events, and promotional initiatives.
  • Consistently exhibit an attitude of service inside and outside of the zoo, showing hospitality to all.
  • Be fully committed to the mission of San Antonio Zoo to create awareness that inspires action to care for the wild world we steward and animals we protect.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, the San Antonio Zoo recommends the following skills/qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in photography, videography, content creation, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with photo and video editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop) or similar platforms.
  • Experience creating content for social media platforms.
  • Strong creative, storytelling, and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for events and content capture.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
