Description
The Multimedia content Specialist develops, produces, and manages engaging multimedia content that advances the University's brand, enrollment goals, and strategic communications priorities. This position combines creative storytelling with technical expertise in video, photography, graphic design, social media and digital content.
The Multimedia Content Specialist works collaboratively with marketing, communications, admissions, athletics, academic departments, and campus partners to identify compelling stories and transform them into high-quality content for digital, social, web, email, print, and other marketing channels.
Responsibilities
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Independently develop, produce, edit, and manage multimedia content for enrollment and marketing-related initiatives across various platforms to align with the institution's brand and campaigns, including:
    • Video content for recruitment, retention, brand, social media, web, email, and advertising/marketing campaigns.
    • photography of students, faculty, staff, alumni, campus, events, athletics, and other University activities.
    • Short-form video and social media content designed for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, and other emerging platforms.
    • Motion graphics, animations, graphic assets, and other visual content supporting University marketing initiatives.
    • Multimedia content for the public website, email communication, digital advertising, print publications, presentations, and other marketing materials.
  • Support the implementation of strategic marketing initiatives that advance enrollment, retention, reputation, and institutional distinction.
  • Develop and execute multimedia content strategies that communicate the University's unique value and student experience through video, photography, graphics, and other digital media.
  • Conceptualize, plan, produce, capture, edit, and deliver multimedia projects from initial concept through final distribution.
  • Identify, research, and develop compelling student, alumni, faculty, staff, and University stories through interviews, and information gathering, translating them into authentic and engaging multimedia content.
  • Maintain and manage a library of high-quality multimedia assets in accordance with University standards and processes.
  • Collaborate with marketing team members and campus partners to develop content, coordinate projects, gathers information, secure approvals, and ensure brand consistency.
  • Select, organize, edit, optimize, and distribute multimedia content for specific audiences, campaigns, platforms, and institutional initiatives.
  • Support integrated marketing campaigns through the creation of multimedia assets and content that advance enrollment, retention, reputation, and other institutional priorities.
  • Monitor content performance and engagement metrics and use insights to guide future content development and optimization.
  • Support digital content strategies, including SEO and emerging AI optimization initiatives, through the creation and optimization of multimedia and written content.
  • Stay current on multimedia, social media, digital marketing, artificial intelligence, and content creation technologies, identifying opportunities to enhance University marketing efforts.
  • Assist in the development of enrollment and marketing-related written content, including email campaigns, website content, social media copy, and spotlights.
  • Implement and manage new and existing student, alumni, and faculty spotlights.
  • Participate in required University compliance training and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Enrollment Marketing.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
  • Coursework, experience, or demonstrated knowledge in multimedia production, marketing, communications, digital media, photography, videography, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, produce, edit and deliver high-quality multimedia content, including video and photography.
  • Knowledge of digital storytelling and audience-focused content development.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud or comparable multimedia and creative software.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, digital content trends, short-form video, and emerging content formats.
  • Strong organizational, project management, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other constituents.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercise sound judgement, and develop effective multimedia solutions that align with University goals and brand standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, with the ability to stay current on emerging trends, platforms, tools, and best practices in multimedia content creation and digital marketing.

Qualifications
Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, multimedia productions, digital media, graphic design, journalism, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in multimedia content creation, including video production, photography, and digital content development, is essential. Proficiency with Adobe Creative cloud and/or comparable creative software is required. Desirable attributes include excellent visual storytelling, oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills; enthusiasm for learning new technologies and techniques; and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment. A portfolio demonstrating relevant multimedia work may be required. Evenings and weekend work will be required for special projects and events.
