Job description

Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Department: TP)Facility Technology Team
Direct Report: Maintenance Group Leader
Shift: 12-Hour Shift (e.g., 545 AM to 6 PM, or 545 PM to 6 AM) following a 2-2-3 pattern
Compensation: Starting range for qualified candidates is $29.85-34.25/hr dependent on prior experience in industrial maintenance with performance based step increases up to $38.00 top out (including $2.00/hr night-shift premium) in as early as 6-18 months
Type: Non-Exempt; Full-time
About the Maintenance Technician position
We are looking for an experienced technician who will perform preventative maintenance, shutdown maintenance and repair duties for the Facilities Technology Team to ensure the assigned unit remains in operating form.
Technician responsibilities are:
  • Perform all work safely and according to company standards
  • Work well with others within the team and throughout the organization
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the position
  • Perform mechanical/electrical maintenance duties safely, professionally, and to standard while following all company and regulatory safe work and housekeeping practices
  • Required to document all maintenance activities in Hankook's maintenance system
  • Participate in and support Hankook's continuous improvement programs to include 5S
  • Develop and maintain a partnership approach to operations, quality, and EHS
  • Maintain knowledge of the machines and remain up to date on predictive and preventive maintenance guidelines
  • Perform work from blueprints, sketches, or specifications
  • Perform welding and fabrication as required
  • Diagnose problems with existing equipment/machinery
  • Use of computer systems to perform diagnostics on electrical components and PLC system
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Technician requirements are:
Education:
  • (Required) high school diploma or GED

Experience:
  • (Required) 1+ years of previous maintenance experience in an industrial environment or completion of a 2-year accredited Industrial Maintenance Certification program

Language:
  • (Required) good command of written and spoken English

Skills & Knowledge:
  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Operations Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Critical Thinking Skills - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively
  • Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
