About the Opportunity

IKG Steel, a leading manufacturer of industrial steel products serving industries for over 100 years, is seeking a driven and experienced Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our HR team in Garrett', IN. This is a 6-month contract position with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance and business needs.


As a Recruiter with IKG Steel, you will play a pivotal role in attracting, hiring, and onboarding top talent to support our growing industrial manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for a wide range of industrial and manufacturing positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to assess staffing needs and deliver tailored recruiting strategies.
  • Source candidates using multiple platforms, including Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Monster, LinkedIn Recruiter, and niche industry job boards.
  • Manage ATS and job postings to attract qualified candidates.
  • Proactively build and maintain a talent pipeline to ensure readiness for urgent hiring needs.
  • Screen and interview candidates to evaluate skills, cultural fit, and job readiness.
  • Coordinate and manage pre-employment processes such as background checks, drug screens, and reference checks.
  • Facilitate a smooth onboarding process including new hire paperwork, orientation, and compliance.
  • Track recruitment metrics and prepare regular hiring reports for HR leadership.
  • Foster relations with external recruitment partners and education institutions while promoting a positive candidate experience.
  • Stay updated on industry hiring trends and best practices to continually improve recruiting strategies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems, preferably Paylocity
  • Proven ability to source and fill positions quickly using major job platforms (Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Monster, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of onboarding practices, compliance requirements, and employment screenings.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple requisitions and competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
