Description
Title: Module Development Engineer
Location Cartersville, GA
SUMMARY
Hanwha Qcells designs, builds, and manages financially sustainable solar photovoltaic (PV) solutions. The company brings a decade of global leadership in solar PV to North America, combining best-of-world technology, processes, and partnerships to deliver utility-grade solar PV solutions customized for the US energy market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the module testing lab (MTL) schedule for testing, including informing all relevant parties of the status of their individual experiments and general timelines for completion.
  • Create schedules for experiments giving any individual module assigned end times for each test within the sequence based on priority, climate chamber availability, and time remaining on the experiment.
  • Maintain a full schedule of daily work and climate chamber availability for all test sequences.
  • Ensure all tests are performed accurately to IEC standards, and troubleshoot any process issue that occur during testing.
  • Coordinate the hire and management of all technicians within the lab.
  • Manage and maintain experiment report Excel files, ensuring accurate data entry, version control, and organized archiving of all test results.
  • Experience in material evaluation and qualification testing
  • Failure analysis and process improvement

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in in a science/engineering discipline.
  • 1-3 years of laboratory experience, preferably in a management capacity.
  • Familiarity with solar module components and test procedures.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across global teams.
  • Experience working within IEC standards and with certification bodies.
  • Proficient in Excel or data analysis tools for result validation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for laboratory data management, including pivot tables, data validation, and automated reporting.
  • Experience with Minitab or equivalent statistical software for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of solar cell/module manufacturing processes and materials
