Job description

SAP ABAP Consultant

Required consultant experience provided by Contractor, shall include:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in programming SAP ABAP/4 (FI/CA, FI, MD, SD, GL modules) with SAP ECC 6.0 or higher

Preferred Experience:

  • 10 years of SAP ABAP work experience in design, implementation, upgrades and maintenance
  • Experience working with the SAP ECC Sales and Distribution (SD), Financial (FI) and General Ledger (GL) modules and other ECC technical environments
  • Experience extending SAP standard functionality using ABAP objects and other modern SAP technologies
  • Experience with REST Web Services
  • Experience in SAP Portal development and Portal upgrades
  • Experience leading IT projects
  • Experience facilitating meetings and follow-up activities
  • Experience with ABAP Object-Oriented Programming
  • Experience with Adobe Forms, Smartforms, Print Workbench, and/or SAP Script
  • Experience with Web Dynpro ABAP/Java
  • Experience with cloud development
  • Experience with custom user exits, complex report programming, batch jobs, BADIs, implicit and explicit enhancements
  • Experience scheduling/maintaining batch jobs and analyzing performance

  • Preferred experience in the Business Rules Framework (BRF) and BRF Plus
  • Ability to plan, organize, document and coordinate work assignments

Required Duties and Responsibilities of Consultant shall include but are not limited to:

  • ABAP programming
  • Provide analysis and systems support
  • Conduct reviews of functional specifications
  • Develop/ implement technical specifications, design diagrams, landscape blueprints
  • Participate in ABAP code reviews
  • Develop and maintain SAP modules FI/CA, SD, BW
  • Meet with Functional Staff to explain program functionality
  • Mentor less experienced Career Service ABAP programmers
  • Generate OSS notes requesting assistance from SAP headquarters
  • Research SAP documentation for solutions to reported problems
  • Design, code, unit test, debug and implement SAP ABAP applications while working closely with business analysts
  • Work with business analysts to review functional specifications and create technical design specifications. Provide technical development effort estimates based on functional specifications/business requirements.
  • Follow all Department, ISP, and team defined standards and procedures
  • Performs other related duties, as required

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Software Engineering, or other related field.
