The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Education and Qualification Requirements

  • Enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a related life science eligible to take the national certification e,g, ASCP, AMT
  • Completed prerequisite courses required for admission into MMC s MLS accredited training program
  • Commit to full-year, full-time accredited MLS Program

Skills

  • Attention to detail, manual dexterity, strong data accuracy, teamwork, effective communication, and proficiency with laboratory information system
  • Didactic and Clinical Practice
  • Didactic coursework in person and virtual in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immunohematology, Microbiology, Urinalysis, Quality Management and Laboratory Operations
  • Clinical practice in all core laboratory sections for approximately 4 to 6 weeks per department: chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, and microbiology

Clinical Practicum Responsibilities

  • Specimen handling
  • Perform testing procedures under supervision
  • Instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting problems
  • Data entry and result review

Quality, Safety and Compliance

  • Follow and document QC checks, instrument calibrations, and corrective actions in compliance with SOPs, CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and lab policies
  • Maintain safety standards: PPE usage, infection control, and environmental safety

Professional Development

Attend workshops, seminars, and peer-group networking to expand clinical knowledge, and leadership and professional skills
