Feed Mill Maintenance Supervisor: Job Description
Job Summary
The Feed Mill Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervision of employees and daily maintenance operations in the feed mill. The Feed Mill Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for training employees, scheduling maintenance activities, supervising all equipment installations, repair and upkeep of all equipment operations. The Feed Mill Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for compliance with all company policies, Local, State and Federal policies, laws and regulations. The Feed Mill Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for reviewing daily down time records and planning repairs and/or corrections to prevent down time of feed manufacturing equipment and computer automation controls equipment.
Essential Duties
• Supervise and train feed mill maintenance employees
• Provide safety training and ensure training is completed
• Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations
• Supervise the maintenance departments responsibilities in accordance with quality assurance policies, standard operating procedures and current GMPs
• Track expenses and oversee budget for maintenance department
• Maintain all machinery to ensure proper working conditions
• Create and implement maintenance procedures
• Conduct inspections of the feed mill to detect and resolve problems
• Plan and supervise all repair and installation procedures
• Ensure all maintenance department employees adhere to safety policies and procedures
• Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair costs estimates
• Ensure PMs are being completed as scheduled
• Oversee equipment stock and place orders for new supplies as needed
• Comply with all company policies
• Comply with all Local, State and Federal laws and regulations
• Perform weekly safety observations and inspections
• Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
Additional Duties
• Operate a forklift and be capable of training employees on the proper operation of forklifts.
• Operate and be capable of training employees on the proper operation of process equipment.
• Complete and participate in confined space training and procedures
Job Qualifications
• A minimum requirement of a high school degree or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in feed manufacturing maintenance
• Knowledge of feed manufacturing equipment operation
• Good understanding of electrical and pneumatic systems
• Knowledge of boiler operations and steam piping
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
