These companies act as a bridge between upstream producers (who extract oil and gas) and downstream companies (who refine and sell finished products). Midstream Energy Partners often own and manage pipelines, storage facilities, and processing plants, playing a crucial role in ensuring energy resources move safely and efficiently from production sites to end users.

What types of projects and collaborations can a professional expect when working at a midstream energy company?

Professionals at midstream energy companies often work on projects involving the transportation, storage, and distribution of oil, natural gas, or related products. Collaboration is typically cross-functional, with frequent interaction between engineering, operations, regulatory, and commercial teams to ensure safe and efficient pipeline operations. You may be involved in tasks such as project planning, coordinating maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards. These roles require adaptability and strong communication skills, as teams often work together to solve logistical challenges and respond to industry changes.

Position Summary
The Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas compression equipment within an assigned territory. This role supports USA Compression's field operations by ensuring equipment uptime, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and providing high-quality service to internal and external customers. • Conduct engine overhauls, compressor rebuilds, and component replacements as needed.
  • Complete start-ups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities safely and efficiently.

Operational Support

  • Coordinate with operations, logistics, and engineering teams to support equipment needs.
  • Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in clean, safe working condition.

Qualifications
Required
  • Solid professional communication/interface skills with customer field personnel, onsite vendors, and other employees. This role is often the USAC position with the most customer interaction. Excellent customer service and positive communication skills are critical to the success in the FST role.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in engines, rotating equipment, or heavy machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
