Job description

A key Optimus client is entering an exciting phase of expansion and is seeking a Director, Commercial to lead and evolve its midstream commercial function. This highly visible leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies that support business growth, maximize asset value, and ensure efficient movement of production through gathering and processing systems.
The successful candidate will serve as a strategic partner across the organization, balancing long-term commercial objectives with day-to-day operational realities. This position requires strong commercial acumen, proven negotiation expertise, and the ability to build and lead a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies related to gathering, processing, and other midstream services.
  • Manage and optimize a portfolio of third-party midstream agreements, ensuring commercial value creation while mitigating risk.
  • Lead negotiations of commercial contracts and structure agreements that align with business objectives and future growth plans.
  • Coordinate commercial activities with production forecasts, available infrastructure, and operational requirements.
  • Evaluate and pursue opportunities to improve system efficiencies, expand infrastructure access, and strengthen strategic partnerships.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a commercial team focused on accountability, collaboration, and performance.
  • Partner with operations, production, marketing, finance, and leadership teams to drive integrated commercial decisions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Energy Management, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline required.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of commercial, midstream, energy, or related industry experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or people management experience.
  • Demonstrated success in commercial negotiations, contract management, portfolio optimization, and strategic planning.
