Reports to:ย  ย Upper School Principal

Position Focus:

The Middle School Principal plays a vital role in supporting the leadership of the Middle School Division. This position works closely with the Upper School Principal to ensure the effective management of faculty and staff, the implementation and supervision of curriculum and instructional practices, and the smooth operation of daily school activities. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Middle School Principal undertakes other duties as assigned by the Upper School Principal, contributing to the overall success and well-being of the school.

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Assist in interviewing prospective school families/students
  • Assist in the selection of Middle School faculty
  • Manage the overarching discipline system in the Middle School
  • Handle the more serious disciplinary cases in consultation wit the Upper School Principal
  • Develop and evaluate educational program to ensure conformance to state and school standards
  • Develop and coordinate educational programs through meetings with staff, review of teachersโ€™ activities, and issuance of directives
  • Develop programs that will build positive peer relationships, encourage spiritual growth through discipleship, provide opportunities for student leadership and encourage community service
  • Consult with Upper School Principal on policies related to the Middle School
  • Confer with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral issues in the school
  • Requisition and allocate supplies, equipment, and instructional material as needed
  • Assist in preparation of class schedules in conjunction with Upper School Principal and Guidance Counselor
  • Walk about school building and property to monitor safety and security
  • Work with Business Administrator and Head of School to plan and monitor school budget
  • Develop education programs for students
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the employees supervised
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizationโ€™s policies and applicable laws
  • Interview, hire, and train employees
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Address complaints and resolve problems using the Matthew 18 principle
  • Serve as a member of the Senior Staff and Academic Team

OPERATIONAL

  • Coordinate, or arrange for coordination of, all Middle School chapels and attend accordingly
  • Oversee and enforce timely and accurate teacher FACTS and Canvas homework and grade postings
  • Oversee and enforce prompt submission of accurate, complete lesson plans
  • Verify accurate and complete report cards
  • Review psychoeducational or psychology testing results with Director of Educational Services, then meet with parent to discuss
  • Act as liaison for Connections Programs that works closely with Director of Educational Services
  • Supervise tutoring and after school help classes when offered
  • Oversee and provide direction to Department Heads in conjunction with the Upper School Principal
  • Ensure that curriculum is under continual review
  • Approve final recommendation of review committeeย 
  • Order all curriculum
  • Ensure that curriculum guides are kept current, complete, and accurate in CurriculumTrak
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of School (CSF reaccreditation, special committees, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of a masterโ€™s degree in education or related areas of supervision or leadership
  • Must have a minimum of 3+ย yearsโ€™ teaching experience, and leadership experience is preferred(Department Head, Team Lead, or other administrative position)
  • ย Demonstrated ability to supervise, communicate and delegate to adults and children
  • A Christian who is a member in good standing and actively serving in a Bible-believing church
