Job description

About the role

Local commerce runs on trustworthy data about places, merchants, and the relationships between them. You will build our local knowledge graph: the POI and places-data systems, entity resolution, and ontologies that turn fragmented, multi-source business data into a clean, queryable graph. If you have built places data or a knowledge graph at map or local scale, this is the core data foundation of the company.

What you'll do
  • Build and scale the local knowledge graph: POI / places data systems, schema, and ontology for local businesses and listings.
  • Own entity resolution and entity linking across multiple, conflicting data sources.
  • Build merchant / listing data-quality systems that keep the graph accurate over time.
  • Fuse multi-source POI data into a single coherent representation at scale.
  • Partner with intent and matching teams so the graph powers search, discovery, and matching.
What we're looking for
  • 4+ years in software engineering with direct knowledge-graph, POI, or places-data work.
  • Hands-on entity resolution / entity linking, multi-source POI fusion, or listing data-quality systems.
  • Experience with ontology / schema design for real-world entities.
  • Comfort operating at graph scale (can speak to the size and structure of graphs you've built).
  • Strong data-engineering fundamentals (pipelines, geospatial data a plus).
Nice to have
  • Background at Google Maps / Google Knowledge Graph, Apple Maps, Foursquare, Yelp, Uber, TomTom, HERE, Meta (Mapillary), or Microsoft (Bing Maps).
  • Entity resolution or merchant-data-quality work at Yelp, Uber, or DoorDash.
