Forever Cheese, LLC. is a privately held specialty food company headquartered in New York City with a warehouse location in Secaucus, New Jersey. Founded in 1998, Forever Cheese is the leading importer of fine artisan cheese, cured meats, nuts and accompaniments from the Mediterranean. About The Role

This is a part-time, temp-to-perm internship: the position begins on a temporary basis, with the potential to convert to a permanent role based on performance and business needs. Benefits eligibility begins upon conversion to permanent status. The Food Science Intern will assist the Regulatory team in supporting compliance with food safety, labeling, and quality assurance standards. This role plays an important part in ensuring accurate product information and documentation while collaborating across departments to uphold high standards of food safety and regulatory compliance. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with internal teams and industry platforms, supporting day-to-day operations and special projects within a food manufacturing environment.

Successful candidates:

  • Have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Have a passion for food science or an interest in learning about the specialty food industry.
  • Are organized, manage their time well, and can balance tasks within deadlines.
  • Work well both independently and collaboratively within teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate data entry into compliance platforms such as 1WorldSync, TraceGains, and other industry portals
  • Assist with generating and verifying Nutrition Facts Panels (NFP) and GTINs
  • Collect and organize supplier documentation such as Certificates of Analysis (COAs), allergen declarations, and product specifications
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA), Research & Development (R&D), and Supply Chain teams to verify and update raw material and finished product data
  • Support daily administrative tasks and contribute to special projects related to food safety and quality systems
  • Participate actively in cross-functional team communications to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Carries out any additional duties that may be assigned or requested

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Food Science; Microbiology, Nutrition, Dairy Science, or other relevant sciences are also considered
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, data entry into food safety and regulatory platforms such as TraceGains or ReposiTrak
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Primarily office-based within a warehouse environment
  • Ability to manage tasks within deadlines and support dynamic project needs
