Job description

Meta seeks an experienced transactional attorney to serve as Associate General Counsel supporting platform, AI, and media partnership initiatives across Meta's Family of Apps. You will work with partnerships and business development teams to structure, draft, and negotiate contracts with technology partners and media companies in support of Meta's consumer-facing product initiatives. You will also advise clients on the various legal risks, business strategies, and other issues related to commercial transactions, strategic partnerships, and business operations.
Associate General Counsel, Media and Strategic Partnerships Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic legal advice and day-to-day support to internal stakeholders, with a focus on the Partnerships and Business Development teams, and high-impact platforms, AI, and content initiatives
  • Serve as a legal subject matter expert in technology and media-related transactions
  • Draft, negotiate, and close complex technology and content partnerships, including bespoke platform integration agreements, data collaboration agreements, and content license agreements
  • Actively participate in cross-functional teams, collaborating with product, privacy, and various legal teams (e.g., IP, Product Counsel, Competition) to address novel legal and commercial contracting issues
  • Develop scalable processes for evaluating and executing sophisticated partnership opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
  • 8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, including in-house experience with a media, internet, or technology company, or comparable experience in a media-focused or technology-focused practice group of a law firm
  • Experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating technology integration agreements and licenses for distribution of content across digital media platforms
  • Knowledge of the current information technology, digital media, and AI landscape, including experience with media-focused technology and consumer AI products

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience working under your own initiative and reacting quickly to make decisions that have both legal and business impact, and prioritizing competing projects based on impact, deadlines, and stakeholder needs
  • Experience in negotiating complex AI and other technology transactions
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Experience working effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, thinking creatively and being solution-oriented
  • Experience supporting platform-level partnerships involving technology integrations and complex commercial terms
  • Experience in providing counsel to internet companies with video, media, or AI products and services offered to consumers
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
