Key responsibilities

  • Visit restaurants and retailers in the assigned Houston territory to introduce Zipline's drone delivery service.

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective merchant partners and close new partnerships.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to signing partnership agreements.

Job description

About Zipline

Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.

Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.

Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.

We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.

About You and The Role

Zipline is transforming the way the world moves. As the world's largest autonomous delivery system, we are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere.

Now we’re bringing that mission to Houston, and we’re looking for exceptional salespeople to help build our merchant network from the ground up.

We’re looking for a relentless, competitive, and highly motivated Account Executive to help grow Zipline's drone delivery network across Houston.

This is not an inside sales role.

You’ll spend approximately 90% of your time in the field, meeting restaurant and retail owners face-to-face, introducing them to Zipline, understanding their business, and helping them become part of the future of local commerce. You’ll own a defined territory, manage your own pipeline, and be responsible for signing new merchant partners. While we’ll provide leads and strategic guidance, your success will ultimately come down to your ability to prospect, build relationships, overcome objections, and close business. Every conversation is an opportunity to introduce a completely new category of delivery technology. You’ll become the face of Zipline within your territory and play a direct role in launching one of the most innovative logistics networks in the world.

This is a contract position with a clear path to full-time employment for top performers as Zipline continues expanding throughout Houston.

The best people in this role are naturally competitive.

They enjoy meeting new people, aren’t discouraged by rejection, and understand that every “no” gets them closer to a “yes.”

They don’t wait to be told what to do—they create opportunities.

They enjoy spending their day in the field, take ownership of their territory, and are motivated by performance-based compensation.

If you’re someone who loves building relationships, enjoys solving problems for business owners, and wants to help launch an entirely new way of delivering goods, you’ll fit right in.

What You’ll Do

As a successful Account Executive, you will:

  • Own and grow your assigned Houston territory.
  • Visit 20-40 restaurants and retailers every day.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective merchant partners.
  • Close an average of 5 new merchant partnerships per week.
  • Become a trusted advisor to local business owners by understanding their business and demonstrating how Zipline can help them grow.
  • Help shape Zipline's commercial playbook as we continue expanding our autonomous delivery network.
  • Prospect restaurants and retailers through in-person visits, cold outreach, phone calls, and email.
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through signed partnership agreements.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and explain Zipline's value in a simple, engaging way.
  • Build strong relationships with restaurant owners, operators, and decision makers. Consistently exceed weekly and monthly sales goals.
  • Manage your territory with a high level of organization and accountability.
  • Capture market insights and customer feedback to help improve our commercial strategy. Represent Zipline professionally while building excitement around our mission and technology.
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven success in outside sales, field sales, or business development.
  • Experience in selling within the restaurant business is a plus.
  • Experience selling into small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently generate new business through prospecting.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Highly organized with strong follow-up discipline.
  • Competitive mindset with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals.
  • Passion for technology, innovation, and helping businesses grow.
What Else You Need To Know
  • Compensation: $150k OTE

Most sales jobs ask you to sell another product.
