The Role

As a Merchandise Planner, you'll develop comprehensive pre-season merchandise plans and forecast future performance across channels, countries, departments, and classes using historical sales insights. You'll manage buy targets and projected inventory levels to ensure optimal stock positions, establish data-driven methods to monitor stock-to-sales ratios, and analyze sales trends for accurate forecasting. Integrating financial reporting, budget requirements, and business objectives, you'll influence decision-making, support in-season business management, and drive profitable outcomes through strong cross-functional collaboration.

Your Impact

  • Create department, class, and style-color level plans by channel and country, owning top-down planning guidance
  • Develop strategic weekly sales plans that roll up to monthly and seasonal plans while supporting Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies
  • Analyze historical performance and current business trends to identify risks and opportunities across categories and classes
  • Ensure alignment and reconciliation between top-down financial targets and bottom-up merchandise plans
  • Build strong partnerships with Merchants to understand financial objectives, develop line and GTM stories, and influence assortment decisions through data-driven insights
  • Lead long-range budgeting and reforecasting (RF) processes to support business objectives
  • Drive pre-season and in-season middle-out reconciliation to ensure financial and inventory targets are achieved
  • Partner with and influence cross-functional teams to develop strategies that support business performance and financial goals

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3+ years of experience in merchandise planning, merchandise financial planning, inventory management, or retail analytics
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data, forecast business performance, and develop actionable insights
  • Strong understanding of retail math, inventory management, financial reporting, and forecasting methodologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and drive alignment
  • Proficiency in planning systems, data analysis tools, and advanced Excel
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
