Job description

The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking highly engaged, intentional, and service-oriented individuals for a part-time Membership Services position.
This role is a profound opportunity to directly impact the lives of the communities we serve by fostering genuine connections, practicing exceptional hospitality, and creating a safe, positive, and enriching environment where every interaction is meaningful. The Membership Services staff will help to create a welcoming experience for members while promoting programs that encourage health and wellness within our community, requiring strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
Work Schedule: This position requires availability for weekday morning shifts starting at 4:45 AM, as well as weekend availability.
Purpose and Impact:
  • Practice Intentionality:
    • Serve as the primary contact, creating a warm and professional environment for all members. Handle all inquiries, payments, and concerns with care.
  • Drive Community Growth:
    • Actively engage with current and prospective members through facility tours and interviews to promote memberships and programs. Proactively generate new prospects through consistent follow-up, tracking, and collaboration with program teams
  • Exemplify Core Values:
    • Uphold Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility while handling check-ins, cash management, and maintaining an organized lobby and workspace.
  • Data Management & Program Support:
    • Perform essential clerical tasks, manage data entry/retrieval, communicate program details, and assist with registrations. Be proactive with knowledge of all program information and changes.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience:
    • H.S. diploma or equivalent required
    • 1 - 3 years' experience in sales, marketing, customer service, or a related field is preferred.
    • Knowledge of customer service, excellent communication skills, and PC ability required.
  • Certifications:
    • First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided and paid for by the YMCA).
