Summary: 
The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in various construction projects, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently according to project specifications. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads. 

  • Collaborate with workers and managers to resolve work-related issues. 

  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure it has been performed to standards. 

  • Transmit and explain work orders to laborers, ensuring clarity and understanding. 

  • Verify specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders. 

  • Inform designated employees or departments of items loaded or problems encountered. 

  • Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals. 

  • Perform the same work duties as those supervised, or perform more difficult or skilled tasks to assist in their performance. 

  • Prepare and maintain records and reports of critical information such as employee time and wages, daily receipts, or inspection results. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • May supervise up to 10 employees, providing guidance, training, and corrective feedback. 

Requirements: 

  • Ability to perform a variety of duties which may change often; work within standards of accuracy. 

  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects. 

  • Capable of lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds. 

  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and other climbing devices; carry tools and equipment. 

  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. 

  • Excellent vision and hearing (naturally or with correction). 

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, documents, instructions, and procedure manuals. 

  • Proficient in routine report writing. 

  • Effective communication skills are essential. 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma preferred. 

  • At least two years of related supervisory experience. 

  • Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Confined Space Entry are required.
