IS THIS SOMETHING THAT INTERESTS YOU?
The Software Sales Engineer will primarily be responsible for bridging the knowledge and experience gap between the Sales and Professional Service teams. The primary role of a software sales engineer is to sell Foods Connected software and services to clients by understanding their needs and demonstrating how the product meets those needs.
The Software Sales Engineer is an instrumental part of the Sales & Marketing team and will report into the Senior Software Sales Engineer. Through close collaboration and alignment with our Commercial Sales team you will deliver engaging product demonstrations to businesses across the food industry globally to provide a detailed insight into the Foods Connected Systems value add to their business. A strong knowledge of demonstrating SaaS products and an interest in the food industry will be required to effectively understand the issues being faced across the sector and how the Foods Connected products can offer solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Demo Creation and Delivery - 50%
  • Build bespoke, customer-specific software demonstrations tailored to their use case, often leveraging customer data under NDA.
  • Deliver engaging, live demos that highlight product value, ROI, and alignment with customer objectives.
  • Maintain the Demo Site to ensure accuracy and relevance, including anonymising examples upon completion and keeping all associated documentation up to date.

Technical Proposals & Cross-Functional Collaboration - 25%
  • Prepare and complete RFIs and RFPs, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Maintain an up-to-date library of technical responses and supporting materials for efficient proposal development.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Implementation, Product) to provide product knowledge and demo features that support upsell opportunities.

Pre-Sales Discovery and Solution Scoping - 15%
  • Participate in discovery calls to understand customer requirements, pain points, and business challenges.
  • Translate customer needs into a clear solution by creating demo plans that map requirements to relevant platform tools.

Industry and Product Expertise - 10%
  • Stay current on Foods Connected functionality, new features, and technology trends.
  • Maintain awareness of food industry regulations, trends, and challenges to position solutions effectively.

Note: This position is focused on technical and solution-oriented responsibilities and does not include tasks such as pricing, proposal preparation, or sales follow-up.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree in related field and 2 year's relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a similar role interacting with and demonstrating a SaaS platform.
  • Experience contributing to or leading and presenting technical proposals as part of Sales Lifecycles.
  • Prior experience with the Software and/or food industry.

Technical Skills
To perform this job successfully, the Software Sales Engineer should have experience with:
  • Microsoft: 365 Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Knowledge of HubSpot or similar CRM system.
  • An understanding of the functionality and gaps of the products and services they are selling utilised across the Food Industry by retailers and manufacturers.
