Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Coordinator to join our healthcare team in Oak Brook, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for managing patient medical records with precision and professionalism, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with healthcare regulations. You will serve as a key support function within our organization, maintaining the integrity of our medical records system while providing efficient service to healthcare providers and patients.

  • Manage, organize, and maintain patient medical records in both physical and electronic formats
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all medical documentation and patient files
  • Process, file, retrieve, and update patient records in a timely manner
  • Respond to medical record requests from patients, healthcare providers, and authorized personnel
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare privacy standards
  • Perform data entry and record updates using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and other healthcare software
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff regarding record requests and documentation needs
  • Implement and maintain organized filing systems and record management protocols
  • Monitor record retention schedules and manage archival and destruction of records according to policy
  • Identify and flag incomplete or inaccurate records for correction
  • Assist with audits and quality assurance reviews of medical records
  • Support the onboarding of new staff regarding record management procedures
