Job description

Job Title: Health Information Director

Location: Salina, KS

Shift: Full-Time, Day Shift (Monday–Friday, Variable Hours)

Pay Rate: $42.00 - $65.00/hour ($90,000 - $135,000 annually based on experience)


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all Health Information Management department operations.
  • Oversee medical record processing, coding, indexing, transcription, filing, storage, and release of information.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of acute and ambulatory coding processes.
  • Maintain compliance with health information policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise department staff and support workflow improvements.
  • Manage physician suspension processes and records maintenance.
  • Coordinate trauma registry and information retrieval functions.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and healthcare staff regarding department operations.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and health information regulations.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Science or related field required (or active plan to complete degree).
  • Minimum 5 years of management/supervisory experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of medical coding experience required.
  • RHIT certification required.
  • RHIA certification highly preferred.
  • Experience with HIPAA regulations preferred.
  • Kansas state licensure/certification requirements applicable.
