Position Overview
This position is ideal for a qualified individual who meets the essential educational, credentialing, and experience requirements to provide medical nutrition therapy and support patient nutrition care in a healthcare setting.
Essential Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree (if Registered Dietitian (RD) credential was obtained before January 1, 2024) or
    • Master's Degree (if RD credential was obtained after January 1, 2024), meeting the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) or a Foreign Dietitian Education Program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
  • Dietetic Internship: Completion of a Dietetic Internship or equivalent program approved by ACEND.
  • Credentials:
    • Registered Dietitian - Must achieve RD credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) within six months of hire.
    • Licensed Dietitian - Must obtain licensure within six months of hire.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing medical nutrition therapy in an acute care hospital or similar facility.
  • Experience in managing, coordinating, or supervising patient nutrition care in an outpatient setting, especially with bariatric patients.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to understand current medical nutrition therapy standards for various patient populations.
  • Excellent customer service skills including problem-solving and strong verbal/written communication.
  • Proficient in using clinical forms and reference materials, adhering to departmental policies.
  • Efficient and responsible in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
