Job description

Mechanical Design Engineer


We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a small Industrial Manufacturing team based in Santa Clara, CA.


This is a project-based role and expected to be approximately 2-weeks in duration for the initial project. Additional project-based work is expected in the future.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Travel to Southern California (1 day trip) to meet with the customer to gather technical specifications and view the physical assembly line.
  • Create 3D designs that will be sent to a vendor to build out.
  • Build user-friendly designs to help improve production efficiency.
  • Work closely with R&D and manufacturing teams.


Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science, or related field, preferred but not required.


Skills & Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient with 3D design software, including SolidWorks.
  • Solid experience in automated test and measurement equipment, machine vision systems, motion systems and robotics, electronics, optics, etc.
  • Capable of independently managing complex projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills.
