Job description

JOB OVERVIEW:
The Dallas Mavericks organization is looking for qualified applicants to function in a professional work environment by assisting the Operations team with daily activities and events.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Seasonal Event/Promotional Assistant will support with various duties and responsibilities but not limited to:
  • Assist in physical set-up and breakdown of internal and external events
  • Must assist with all daily activities including giving away promotional items, interacting with people of all ages, cleaning, delivering boxes, organizing, keeping up with inventory, etc.
  • Gain a complete understanding of the requirements for each event and implement them
  • Work closely with event/full time managers to execute events to the standards of our clients
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple projects at once, and take initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work closely with other employees, vendors and guests.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure without losing a customer-service oriented attitude
  • Strong desire to provide the highest level of customer service
  • Resourceful, proactive team player
  • Communication skills with people of all ages
  • Be punctual and able to adapt/flex schedule on a short-term notice (schedule updates weekly)
  • Be able to receive, evaluate, and oversee deliveries, shipments and product levels to improve inventory control procedures
  • Must be organized and can prioritize elements of operational order based on time allotment
  • Must be able to climb ladders up to 15 feet
  • Must be able to analyze daily product and supply levels as well as provide continuous numerical updates to the supervising manager with status including problems, and shortage/overages.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must pass a drug screening and have a clean background record
  • Must have a current/valid driver’s license and be able to operate commercial vans/pick up trucks
  • Reliable; have a flexible schedule and be available to work at least 20 hours per week, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Outgoing, energetic, detail-oriented, and responsible
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Applicants must have the ability to move, carry, and lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Experience driving commercial vehicles and operating heavy machinery preferred
  • Must be able to operate in the outdoor elements with varying types of weather
