Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Dallas Mavericks organization is seeking a motivated, outgoing, and dedicated Seasonal Photography Editing Intern to support the photo team. The ideal candidate is technical visually and comfortable editing photos on deadline. This role will provide an expansive opportunity for the candidate assist with various forms of creative photo content.
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP:
  • October 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027. (Duration may change because of performance and/or business needs)
  • Mandatory In-Person Internship Development Session. (Once a month)
  • Must be able to work up to 29 hours per week (3-4 days/wk.), which may include nights and weekends as needed.
JOB FUNCTION:
  • Color correction of digital photographs from game days, nights and photo shoots in order to closely match real-life tones
  • Support the Dallas Mavericks photography team as needed
  • Assists in preparation for on-location shoots
  • Ensures images are labeled, organized, stored, and archived appropriately
  • Maintains consistent and organized digital workflow
  • Completes all assignments on time according to direction
  • Maintains current knowledge of design and technology trends
  • Maintains a clean and orderly workstation and set spaces
  • Adapts to additional duties and tasks
  • Contributes to team effort by fulfilling responsibilities with a positive attitude
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Advanced level Adobe Lightroom Classic skills
  • A strong eye for visual composition
  • A solid understanding of production techniques including separation, layering, and color management
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to accept and apply critique and feedback
  • Ability to work alone or with a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks without affecting quality
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Knowledge of the game of basketball, Dallas Mavericks team news (both current and historical), and NBA storylines.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays for possible Dallas Mavericks games and events.
  • Outstanding communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be currently enrolled in a college program specific to Photography, Marketing, Graphic Design, etc.
