Job description

Location: Rockport, IN
Cleveland-Cliffs, Rockport Works, has an immediate opportunity for a Process Engineer. The Process Engineer is responsible for providing full professional engineering expertise in the planning and execution of assigned technical projects within their specific department. This position will have daily contact with Engineering, Operating Supervision, Maintenance, and Production employees to gather information for root cause analysis & corrective action implementation.
Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Provides experienced engineering know-how in solving technical problems & implementing process improvements within their department
  • Developing comprehensive diagnosis through research of alternative solutions to quality, productivity, & cost related issues while consulting with colleagues, staff or operating personnel
  • Analyzes component parts and investigates field application of parts to determine effectiveness
  • Develops, analyzes, prepares and executes technical projects. Compiles data relating to project assignments and presents summary conclusions to supervision
  • Develops effective working relationships with Engineering, Operating, Maintenance, Quality, Research and Technical Service to communicate processing applications as they relate to cost, quality, production and safety standards
  • Attends various conferences, seminars and company-wide round table visits to other sites to keep abreast of developments within assigned area of responsibility
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office for generating reports and data analysis.
  • Must possess awareness of general maintenance and electronic procedures, safety and cost analysis
  • Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United Stated on a full-time basis

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous industry experience
  • Experience with PLC's HMI's and industrial automation
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD
