Our turnkey service capabilities provide our customers with efficiency, consistency, attention to detail and safe execution. The QISG team brings together Engineering, Safety, Quality, Material Procurement, QA/QC, Right-of-Way Acquisition, Scheduling, Environmental Planning, Permitting, Title and Land Management expertise that ensure outstanding results for our clients.


The Materials Manager at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is responsible for overall project materials management including, sourcing, procurement, logistics and on-site contractor management for the Company.


  • Develops and manages industry best material management practices and resources with client
  • Works with customer approved local vendors to quickly obtain materials when expedited requests are needed
  • Works directly with procurement to ensure project materials adhere to construction and delivery schedules, and effectively communicate with client, project team and vendors to obtain the precise material required on time
  • Performs material take-offs and works with customer, engineering, project management and construction to determine necessary material for project completion
  • Manages lead times and material availability by identifying the material construction need dates, order by dates, and material decision points to be included in project schedules; including forecasting and reservation based on construction schedule or look ahead
  • Directly interfaces and oversees vendor shipments to ensure logistics and timely delivery of construction materials to the project
  • Continuously monitors changes to construction material requirements to ensure appropriate requisitions and/or revisions are efficiently addressed
  • Prepares Materials Management Execution Plan as needed
  • Manages all aspects of receiving and issuing of all materials, equipment, tools and consumables to ensure effective, timely and accurate receipt and issue for construction
  • Establishes layout of warehouse and or lay-down yard, using warehouse/material management industry best practices to safely maximize space and streamline operations to efficiently support construction efforts
  • Ensures all inventory is handled and stored safely, according to any requirements and engineering specifications
  • Manages and executes receiving, count, and inspection of materials delivered to construction/warehouse/ lay-down yard and addressing any discrepancy whether it be QA/QC, overage, shortage, damage, or other
  • Obtains and resolves material related questions and/or problems, directly coordinating between project manager, engineering, suppliers, fabricators, construction, project controls or other management
  • Plans, manages, and executes phase bundling, structure staging and kitting to help streamline materials for construction
  • Performs on-site material audits to ensure accuracy of inventory
  • Directly manages, controls, and performs data input for project materials within our inventory management system (ClearSpider), to provide real time and accurate inventory reporting
  • Directs, coordinates and supervises the off−loading and storage of materials as they are received or issued to construction
  • Performs project closeout for materials, purchase orders, and other contract requirements, including obtaining proper disposition instruction of excess materials
  • Acts as liaison between Project manager, customer, supplier, and construction management to resolve any material related issues
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
  • Performs special projects and completes other duties as assigned or requested

Required Experience and Education

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and 2+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Relevant career experience in the construction industry and exposure to EPC projects in the electric power delivery sector is preferred

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $120,000.00/Yr. - USD $150,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
