Job description

As a Materials Manager here at Solstice, you will be accountable for overseeing and ensuring the success of the materials management process and team. Your primary objective will include optimizing supply chain efficiency, ensuring timely delivery of materials to facilitate our production schedules, and ensuring on time delivery of finished goods to our customers. You will use your guidance and management skills, deep insight of inventory management systems, and a strategic approach to sourcing and procurement.
You will report directly to our Sr Chemical Plant Ops Manager and you'll work out of our Muskegon, MI location on an ONSITE work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the company's bottom line by reducing operational expenses and ensuring a constant flow of materials for production. Your proactive approach to materials and warehouse management contributes significantly to meeting production deadlines, enhancing overall business resilience, and customer satisfaction.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field or significant relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, with a strong focus on utilizing SAP for logistics problem-solving.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in using SAP's logistics modules and functionalities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and reports within SAP.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to communicate professionally with customers.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully utilizing SAP to solve logistic problems and optimize materials management processes.

PAY RANGE
The annual base salary range for this position is $104,289-130,872. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

  • Manage a Supply Chain and Warehouse Team. Develop, coach, discipline as needed to achieve site objectives. Manage ADP/Time and Attendance for team. Prioritize safety, use of PPE / safeguards, and ensure site policies are followed in your area. Ensure team adheres to stringent quality standards, manages housekeeping and 5S in warehouse and office areas, and does not ship defective materials.
  • Support key customer accounts by participating in customer calls, preparing and reviewing delivery schedules, and ensuring customers' needs are fulfilled.
  • Ensure returnable container movements to distribution centers (Rinchem) deliver to customer's demand forecasts / safety stock expectations. Develop automation on returnable container stock transfer orders (STOs). Troubleshoot returnable containers processes, submit IT tickets, and work with IT as needed to keep container processes to standard.
  • Own site OTFP, OTT PGI, Past Due, Inventory, Days of Supply, Inventory Record Accuracy Metrics. Perform RCA and implement corrective measures if performance dips below site goals. Lead annual wall to wall physical inventory reconciliation with Finance.
  • Participate in AOP, STRAP, MOR, Tier 4, and site Leadership Team. Identify opportunities for productivity improvements in your area.
  • Utilize SAP skills on a daily basis to solve logistics and warehouse problems and optimize materials management processes at the Muskegon Solstice location.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address logistic challenges using SAP functionalities.
  • Analyze data and reports within SAP to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts by leveraging SAP's inventory management capabilities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipments to customers and internal production by utilizing SAP's logistics functionalities.
  • Provide guidance and support to the materials management team in utilizing SAP effectively.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by leveraging SAP's tools and features.
  • Stay updated on the latest SAP developments and best practices in logistics and materials management.
