Job description

Job Title: Material Control Coordinator
Job Description

The Material Control Coordinator supports daily production and inventory operations by tracking materials, processing inventory movements, and preparing reports. You will work closely with production, warehouse, and other internal teams, as well as vendors, to ensure materials are available when needed and information stays accurate and up to date. This role combines hands-on inventory work with computer-based reporting in a fast-paced office and manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Track and update daily inventory levels and material usage to ensure accurate records and support continuous production.
  • Run basic daily and monthly reports to provide visibility into inventory status, production activity, and material movements.
  • Process material movements, including trip and receive transactions, to keep inventory systems aligned with physical stock.
  • Print and prepare pick slips for warehouse teams to support timely and accurate material picking and staging.
  • Update production and sales reports regularly to reflect current output, shipments, and material consumption.
  • Communicate with internal teams and vendors as needed to resolve material issues, confirm deliveries, and coordinate supply needs.
  • Create purchase orders when required to replenish materials, supplies, and other necessary items.
  • Order supplies, safety gear, and signage to support safe and efficient operations in the plant and warehouse.
  • Help coordinate meetings, events, or team needs by organizing materials, schedules, and communication.
  • Be available on-call to respond to urgent inventory or material control issues that may arise outside regular hours.
  • Use RF scan guns and labeling tools to support accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities by ensuring materials are correctly labeled, documented, and recorded in the system.
  • Assist with production control, planning, and scheduling tasks to help align material availability with production requirements.
Essential Skills
  • 1–2 years of related experience in inventory, material control, production control, warehouse management, or a closely related field, or a two-year degree.
  • Experience with inventory control and material planning in a warehouse, plant, or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform data entry accurately and efficiently in inventory and production systems.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Excel, email, and other common business systems.
  • Ability to run and interpret basic daily and monthly reports related to inventory, production, and materials.
  • Comfort using RF scan guns for inventory tracking, shipping, and receiving activities.
  • Basic math skills and comfort working with numbers for counts, adjustments, and reporting.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hands-on warehouse and plant setting with production and material handling teams.

  • Experience with planning and scheduling in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Background in warehouse management, including shipping, receiving, and labeling processes.

Work Environment

This role operates in a combined office and manufacturing environment with regular interaction in warehouse and plant areas. Training takes place Monday through Friday, either from 6:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. or from 6:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. for approximately two weeks, depending on how quickly you learn the role. The regular shift runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. You will work in a fast-paced, hands-on setting that involves frequent movement between office and shop floor spaces. Safety equipment is required when walking in the plant and warehouse areas, and adherence to safety procedures is expected at all times. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
