Job description

The Marketing Project Manager II position exists to organize, manage, control, and monitor the implementation of integrated Marketing projects for FOF fundraising marketing programs involving multiple media formats including, but not limited to print, Internet, email, social, broadcast, inbound and outbound calling. It will play a critical role in the definition, coordination, and delivery of stand-alone or integrated marketing campaigns, and will work with team leaders, strategy, campaign, media planners, and internal FOF customers to ensure that all project team members have a complete understanding of the project deliverables. The role requires problem solving and the ability to question and provide direct input to strategy and process. Requires only general direction and works independently, refers only specific, unusual problems to supervisor.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages overall multi-channel marketing campaigns and cross-channel tactics for Fundraising Marketing or Retention programs
  • Creates marketing project plans and provides oversight on schedule, budget, scope, resources, milestones, risks, relationships, issues, and status
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of Focus on the Family and CRM procedures and processes essential to the management of marketing projects and to the functionality and effectiveness of the creative product, including email, direct mail, social media, online and ecommerce channels
  • Directs marketing project objectives and specifications and reviews creative content at various stages of production to ensure that all intended content is included, makes copywriting suggestions, and that all requested revisions are accurately executed
  • Expedites marketing projects as needed attaining required approvals, following through on client and/or creative requests, and negotiating project schedules and deadlines with internal and external departments
  • Is familiar with split and multivariate testing concepts and strategies including versioning of inbound and outbound marketing pieces
  • Collaborates with CRM cross-functional team, Directors and multiple departments involved in marketing projects to ensure clear communication on scope, schedules, resources, dependencies, deliverables, risks, and milestone development (including print matrices, strategies, and budgets of projects in process)
  • Enters and executes projects in Aprimo software (drives projects through the various stages of creative production, and ensures projects are closed with proper documentation)
  • Gives input into the creation of marketing strategy including, but not limited to scope, audience development, tactical execution, and final project measures

 

  • Plans the project including schedule, resources, dependencies, deliverables, risks, milestone development, and communications plans
  • Monitors and controls resource availability, constraints, and assignments
  • Coordinates mailing list processing, segmentation management and data delivery to Mailing Services and/or external vendors
  • Maintains up-to-date status reports of all projects
  • Is responsible for ensuring on-time delivery at each stage of project process
  • Builds a strong relationship with partnering departments, encouraging an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork on behalf of Focus on the Family and impact center clients’ goals
  • Initiates and maintains regular and effective communication with all departments and individuals who have a part, including clear direction on deadlines, their role in the project and developments that could impact project deliveries or quality
  • Highlights issues or obstacles that stand in the way of attaining strategy or impacting an on-schedule or on-budget completion of a campaign
  • Is responsible for client, department, and external project management training with regards to technical expectations, standards, processes, and day to day uses
  • Maintains and documents ongoing technical problems with technology platform and assists in troubleshooting and testing
  • Builds project workflows to facilitate appropriate marketing project management (as assigned)
  • Is able to analyze post-production response data and generate meaningful debrief reports for assigned projects suitable for presentation to senior leadership. (May present findings as assigned)

 

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Is available to assist in process design, mapping, and engineering of any CRM processes
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

  • General marketing management and planning, including process management
     
  • Facilitates activities for teams of varying skills and functions from all areas of the ministry

  • Computer proficiency in a variety of Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)
  • Project Management software proficiency, i.e., Teradata, Microsoft Project (desired but not required)
  • PMP certification is desired but not required

Pay Range: $ 72,904 to $ 87,153
