Job description

Cohen & Co is seeking an experienced Events Planning Professional to join our Growth team. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this professional will lead the firm's event management strategy and execution approach in support of various relationship-building and business development objectives. The firm's events span national and local interests, a wide variety of sizes and duration, and encompass Webinars, firm hosted in-person conferences, seminars and roundtables, and third-party sponsorships. Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Develop, promote, produce and analyze the effectiveness of market-facing events, including: branded and co-branded programs; webinars, CPE and other thought leadership programs; sponsorships; client entertainment, networking and appreciation events; and other events tied to the firm's strategic initiatives.
  • Provide advanced meeting and event planning expertise from event concept to goal setting, working with internal Steering Committees and firm leadership. Organize activities related to agenda setting, sourcing and securing internal and external speakers, budget management, venue sourcing and contract negotiation, logistics management and seeing every event through to flawless execution.
  • Serve as event planning lead for the firm's signature annual Investment Industry CPE event, a multi-day event for 400+ clients, prospects, and internal attendees. Foster collaborative relationships with various individuals and teams at various levels across the firm and with external stakeholders.
  • Analyze event operations and suggest areas for improvement, including providing expertise on the utilization of technology tools and advanced automation and efficiency capabilities.
  • Provide post event analysis, budget recaps, internal and attendee feedback, and incorporate learning into future event plans.
  • Collaborate with Industry Marketing Leads and other Marketing Team members on event related content, social media, email marketing, list management and ROI/lead tracking.

Education & Requirements:
  • 10 years of progressive experience in events and meeting planning. Experience in a Professional Services firm is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. CMP Certification is preferred.
  • Experience managing complex projects, developing project budgets, negotiating contracts, prioritizing multiple projects and working with other team members to meet deadlines in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with technology platforms including webinar, CRM, marketing automation and event marketing tools. Specific experience with Salesforce, Pardot and Cvent is a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel).
  • A strong, proactive client service mindset and work ethic.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% to support events across the US. Occasional work on evenings and weekends to support events as needed.
