What will the work look like for me?

As a Marketing Copywriting Student, you will collaborate with a team of strategists, copywriters, and designers to create impactful content across print, digital, and social platforms.

You will be mentored by our marketing messaging copywriter and gain hands-on experience.

We are looking for someone curious and creative, digging into the details of the project to best communicate messages to the target audience.

When will I work?

Applicants should be available to work approximately 15 hours per week (maximum of 20 hours per week) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.

Where is this opportunity located? 

In this position, you have the flexibility to work from a South Dakota home office or at the Brookings, SD or Sioux Falls, SD Daktronics campuses.

What are the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for this position is $14.50 to $17.00 per hour based on the location of Brookings, SD. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Students with GPA of 3.5 and above may be eligible for a $500 Academic Excellence Reward for each spring and fall semester completed while employed.  Additional conditions may apply.

Qualifications

To be considered for Marketing Copywriting Student position, we require the following:

 

Academic Requirements:

  • The preferred applicant will be a student registered in at least 12 credit hours.
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related fields.
  • Preferred applicants will be in their sophomore or junior year of school and have completed writing
  • Only strong academic performers will be considered and must maintain an acceptable
  • Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered.

Other Requirements: 

  • Good oral communication, written communication, and organizational
  • Self-motivated and flexible with a desire to work both independently and as a team player.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Eager to learn with an innate curiosity and willingness to ask
  • Enthusiasm to work on new projects and flexibility to handle ever-changing priorities and
  • General computer skills, including accurate keyboarding and the ability to learn and navigate new software and
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal communication
