General Description / Primary Purpose
This position performs senior-level technical engineering support related to the maintenance, organization, and stewardship of campus engineering and construction records. The role serves as the custodian of the University's digital drawing and infrastructure documentation, including campus utility maps, digital flat files, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
Job Functions
• Engineering Records and Mapping Management
  • Serves as the custodian of the University's repository of digital engineering and construction records, including campus utility maps, digital flat files, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
  • Maintains the campus map by continuously updating utility and infrastructure information as the campus evolves.
  • Ensures engineering records are accurate, current, properly organized, and stored in designated systems and file locations.
  • Reviews and culls digital files to confirm correct placement, version control, and long-term usability.
• Technical Engineering Support
  • Utilizes the AutoCAD environment to review, interpret, and manage engineering and infrastructure documentation.
  • Maintains awareness of CAD licensing requirements and monitors license usage as needed.
  • Provides engineering documentation and technical support to Facilities staff, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders upon request.
  • Responds to requests for records and documentation promptly, often on short notice.
• Underground Utility Coordination
  • Serves as the University's liaison to Underground Utility (UGU) organizations.
  • Coordinates with university employees, designers, and contractors to assist in the identification and location of underground utilities.
  • Visits construction sites as needed to photograph underground utilities prior to site grading to support accurate documentation and mapping.
• Work Orders and Project Support
  • Supports engineering work orders and construction-related activities by supplying accurate records, maps, and supporting documentation.
  • Provides supplementary technical assistance to the department and campus partners as needed.
  • Responds to campus maintenance emergencies by providing engineering records, maps, and utility information as required.
  • During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
