Job description

Job Description SummaryThis role leads development and deployment of data and software-enabled manufacturing solutions for engine overhaul and repair operations across GE Aerospace's global MRO network. The MTO Manufacturing Software Leader combines manufacturing engineering depth with hands-on software and data product capability to deliver measurable improvements in yield, cycle time, quality, and productivity. This position owns high-impact digital workflows in areas such as AI-enabled material forecasting applications, Databricks-based repair data products, SAP router/work center digital alignment, and digital inspection or automated defect-recognition solutions. Success requires strong customer empathy, rapid problem-solving, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams from prototype through scaled deployment.Job Description

Role Overview:

  • Lead strategic digital manufacturing initiatives that improve overhaul and repair outcomes in MRO shop environments.
  • Design, build, and manage web applications that operationalize AI models (including material forecasting) for daily shop and planning use.
  • Build and govern Databricks data products and catalogs for repair operational data (including rework and quality dashboards).
  • Drive consistent digital alignment of routers and work center IDs in SAP and related systems to improve data integrity and execution accuracy.
  • Create and lead blended delivery teams (internal talent and external contractors) to deliver production-ready software solutions for manufacturing workflows.
  • Partner with CES Datafabric, Data Science, MRO DT, Operations, and Engineering teams to translate business pain points into deployable technical products.
  • Develop high-fidelity prototypes, run pilot testing with shop users, and convert successful pilots into scalable network solutions.
  • Establish standard technical patterns, documentation, and governance to enable repeatable deployment across global MRO sites.
  • Lead operating rhythms and execution reviews; track milestones, adoption, and business impact metrics, and provide decision-ready updates to leadership.
  • Drive adoption and sustainment of deployed tools through training, feedback loops, and continuous improvement cycles.
  • Apply Lean and manufacturing engineering principles to ensure digital solutions improve process capability, not just system complexity.
  • Create project charters, integrated timelines, risk plans, and action trackers; remove roadblocks and drive on-time delivery.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related technical field from an accredited university with a minimum of 7 years' experience in software development, data engineering, manufacturing engineering, MRO operations, or digital product delivery

    OR

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years' experience in software development, data engineering, manufacturing engineering, MRO operations, or digital product delivery

  • Willingness to travel approximately 6 times per year to global MRO sites

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, and eager to learn
  • Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, and contributes constructively
  • Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, and stays committed to outcomes
  • Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, and collaborative team builder
  • Problem solver: analytical, systems-minded, and willing to challenge legacy processes
  • Strong full-stack web application development capability with ability to deliver maintainable, production-grade solutions
  • Strong data engineering experience, including building governed data products and data models in platforms such as Databricks
  • Experience operationalizing AI/ML solutions from prototype to production, including monitoring and lifecycle management
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical execution with team leadership (hybrid builder-leader model)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in manufacturing, repair, or other operationally intensive environments
  • Experience working with ERP or manufacturing execution data models (SAP experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in driving process change and adoption through structured change management and user-centered design
  • Ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders across operations, engineering, quality, and digital technology teams
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize complex topics for executive and frontline audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs that scale across multiple sites
