Job description


As a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Digital Manufacturing Implementation Leader, you will drive the deployment and adoption of advanced manufacturing and Industry 4.0 solutions that improve operational performance, product quality, and productivity across complex manufacturing environments. You will lead cross-functional implementation efforts spanning MES, automation, OT/IT integration, and manufacturing data systems while developing scalable processes, best practices, and high-performing teams. In this role, you will partner with customers, operations, engineering, and product stakeholders to deliver successful digital manufacturing transformations and maximize value from operational data.
You will report directly to our leadership team, and you'll work out of our Northford, CT location on a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute advanced manufacturing strategies that improve process capability, operational performance, and innovation.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using manufacturing data, metrics, and root-cause analysis to identify opportunities and implement corrective actions.
  • Own implementation delivery from kickoff through testing, go-live, adoption, handoff, and long-term success across multiple engagements or sites.
  • Configure, onboard, test, and support integrations with PLCs, SCADA, historians, MES platforms, ERP systems, and related manufacturing technologies.
  • Partner with production, quality, design, product development, and business stakeholders to align technical execution with business objectives.
  • Build scalable implementation methods, playbooks, tools, and best practices that improve speed, quality, repeatability, and customer adoption.
  • Lead, coach, and resource team members or project contributors; drive accountability, risk management, and issue resolution.
  • Evaluate and integrate technologies such as automation, robotics, additive manufacturing, industrial connectivity, and cloud-enabled manufacturing data solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, OT cybersecurity expectations, and applicable manufacturing system controls.
  • Travel 25-30%, to other Honeywell locations, domestic and international.

Qualifications
You Must Have:
  • 5+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing engineering, process optimization, software implementation, systems integration, manufacturing technology deployment, or related fields.
  • Experience leading projects, driving accountability, managing priorities, and balancing business needs with team capacity.
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working directly with internal or external customers in consultative, cross-functional environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to use manufacturing data and metrics to improve productivity, quality, cost, and operational performance.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, industry standards, and continuous improvement practices.

We Value:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred; Master's degree or Ph.D. valued.
  • Hands-on experience with MES, SCADA, industrial automation, manufacturing software, SaaS platforms, or Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Understanding of MES architecture and deployment models including multi-site, cloud-enabled, and hybrid environments.
  • Experience with OT/IT integration, manufacturing data systems, ISA-95 concepts, SAP ECC/S/4HANA, SQL, relational databases, and data modeling.
  • Experience with industrial and enterprise communication technologies including REST APIs, OPC UA, MQTT, web services, SAP PCo/MII, Kepware, Ignition, or comparable platforms.
  • Programming or scripting experience in C/C++, Python, C#, or similar languages used for automation and integration.
  • Knowledge of PLC and SCADA integration, industrial data architecture, cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Databricks, and OT cybersecurity practices.
  • Experience in batch manufacturing or high-volume discrete manufacturing environments such as electronics assembly, testing, SMT, or similar operations.
  • Exposure to containerization or modern deployment practices such as Docker or Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for scalable processes and practical execution.
  • Strategic thinking, curiosity, and ability to drive change in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to build trust across technical, operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, team development, and the advancement of industrial automation and digital manufacturing capabilities.

The salary range for this position is ($102,000 - $127,000). Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
