Applications Engineer

GameChange Solar is one of the fastest growing, most dynamic companies in the booming solar industry. We are a leader in the solar racking and tracker industry with a dynamic and driven team passionate about changing the game in solar. Our products are designed to be the fastest installing and most cost-effective in the industry.

We are seeking civil and mechanical engineers to join our project engineering team. We are looking for creative, intelligent, and driven professionals who want to make a positive impact on the planet. As an Applications Engineer, this individual will play a key role in designing, estimating, and qualifying for GigaWatts worth of Solar Capacity around the world. This is a prime opportunity for an ambitious engineer to develop their professional skills and gain experience in the exciting market of Solar PV.

Applications Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering analysis, including structural calculations for company products, in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Support Sales Staff in performing preliminary project analysis, estimating material take-offs, and responding to technical questions.
  • Evaluate inbound documentation to identify potential hurdles to successful project completion Interface with company staff, client commercial and technical personnel
  • Draft technical prequalification documents (plans, assembly drawings, and details) for ground mounted solar racking systems
  • Propose, design and validate new ways of reducing the total amount of structural material in racking systems to reduce the overall cost of the system without compromise to quality

Applications Engineer Qualification/Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Engineering Civil or Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant engineering, project management, sales, or estimating experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, reports
  • Ability to perform work independently and reliably according to work schedules and assignments
  • Capability for navigating, interpreting and applying building code requirements
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Must be self-directed and resourceful, detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities, comfortable
  • working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with solar PV technology preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
