Job Summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead manufacturing operations through an active transition from production to development-focused programs in support of DoD propulsion systems. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this individual will own daily manufacturing and test operations while adapting processes, tooling, and team capabilities to support early-stage hardware builds, prototype fabrication, and development test articles. The Manufacturing Manager will directly supervise technicians and cross-functional manufacturing staff, bridging frontline execution with engineering and program office requirements as the facility evolves toward a development operations model.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day manufacturing and test operations in support of development programs, low-rate builds, and prototype fabrication
  • Support development of manufacturing readiness roadmaps aligned with program maturity gates and MRL advancement
  • Manage and maintain facility equipment and tooling inventory, ensuring availability and readiness to support development program schedules
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment, test fixtures, and specialized tooling
  • Coordinate equipment qualification and requalification activities as required by program or quality standards
  • Own the facility CAPEX budget, including identifying, justifying, and prioritizing capital investments in equipment, tooling, and infrastructure to support development operations growth
  • Partner with engineering and program teams to forecast tooling and equipment needs aligned with upcoming program phases and MRL advancement
  • Ensure facility capabilities support current and future development program designs; identify and drive facility improvement actions
  • Supervise, coach, and develop production technicians through frontline leadership; deliver training materials and maintain training records
  • Manage business processes to measure and improve overall production performance; update departmental procedures as required
  • Utilize key quality metrics and trend data to initiate improvements in overall quality performance
  • Participate in support of product Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs)
  • Support Manufacturing Readiness Level Assessments (MRLAs) at supplier and in-house facilities
  • Lead and support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
  • Support Hardware Acceptance Reviews (HARs) and Pre-Ship Reviews
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with safety, design engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to drive integrated manufacturing execution
  • Actively participate in the change management process to implement process and design improvements
  • Support internal and external audits and program status reviews
  • Other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level
  • Positive, cooperative, self-motivated, and professional behavior with a strong commitment to team execution
  • Eight (8) to twelve (12) years of related professional experience in Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a relevant discipline
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring manufacturing or operations personnel in a DoD or aerospace environment, including development or prototype program support
  • Experience supporting manufacturing in a development or prototype environment, including low-rate, first-article, and early-stage hardware builds
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, rapidly evolving program environment with shifting priorities and ambiguous requirements
  • Experience managing facility CAPEX planning and execution, including business case development and capital investment justification
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workload across self and team, delegate effectively, and operate with limited supervision across multiple functional organizations
  • Experience with non-conformance processes including root cause, corrective/preventive action, and MRB activities
  • Experience with AS9100, AS9102, and/or ISO 9001 quality management standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to engage and influence across engineering, quality, supply chain, and program office stakeholders
  • Experience identifying manufacturing process improvements using quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience
  • Supplier evaluation and auditing capability
  • Experience with program management tools and techniques to manage cost, technical, and schedule requirements in development program environments
  • Involvement and experience in Lean Manufacturing principles applied in development or low-rate production environments
  • Familiarity with equipment lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and tooling configuration control in an aerospace or defense manufacturing environment
  • EVMS Control Account Manager (CAM) experience - strongly preferred given development program context
  • Strong RCCA, FAI, and MRLA skills - critical in development operations where first-article and qualification builds are frequent
  • CQE and/or CQA certification (preferred)
  • Lean Certification (preferred)
Education

Required:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or relevant discipline from an accredited college/university. May consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Preferred:

Master's degree in a STEM field or relevant discipline from an accredited college/university.
