How You'll Make an Impact
As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving specialty chemical solutions forward. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading an engineering team in the execution & completion of departmental goals/objectives. This individual will work across all functions to ensure operational and new product development initiatives are met. This position will also help identify continuous improvement opportunities to eliminate "waste" within the operations.
In this role, you will:
  • Manages and supports a team of engineers in day-to-day activities to meet site and company objectives. Provides direction, guidance, & support for their team.
  • Develop engineering team to support future needs of the site.
  • Responsible for process engineering support to assist manufacturing in the resolution of manufacturing processing problems enabling on time shipment of product to customers.
  • Leads cross functional and multi-site teams to achieve strategic project goals.
  • Ability to execute project management tools and techniques with proven results.
  • Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills by utilizing technical knowledge and an understanding of silicone & general manufacturing processes.
  • Responsible for new projects being fully vetted and ready for manufacturing when released to operations.
  • Develop leading edge, validated, cost effective, silicone manufacturing processing technology to enhance competitive advantage. Includes staying abreast of the latest technology in the silicone fabrication industry.
  • Lean manufacturing - identify value improvement opportunities (CI) for cost savings in the form of engineered manufacturing solutions and technical process improvements.
  • Work with Commercial Team to develop a technology roadmap for best-in-class facilities and equipment.
  • Responsible for the application, maintenance, and preservation of Lubrizol design standards and proprietary technology in the design of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and fixturing.
  • Develop standard & robust new product development processes.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and application of a customer tool care program which upgrades tooling to minimize secondary processing costs and prevent delivery interruptions.
  • Support site capital plan and manage expenses related to new and replacement equipment.
  • Active member of the Franklin Senior Leadership Team.
  • Advocate to uphold Lubrizol policies, values, and cultural beliefs.
  • Presents to department, cross function, & site leadership teams.
  • Working knowledge of silicone tooling, processing, & equipment.
  • Ability to provide logical explanations and potential solutions for complex engineering issues.
  • Leadership role which will interface with internal & external customers.
  • Collaborate with other departments.
  • Develop & manage plans to improve efficiencies and increase yields.
  • Generate department KPI's to monitor team progress and track initiatives.
  • Lead large scale programs which may involve new technologies.
  • Make complex decisions based on advanced statistical analysis (data driven).

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related technical field.
  • 8 + years relative experience in the medical device, or adjacent, heavily-regulated, industry.
  • 5+ years leadership or management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Project, problem solving techniques and/or

other data-driven skill sets.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet delivery dates in a fast-paced

customer manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of silicone tooling, processing, & equipment (preferred).
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
