Job description

Position Overview:

The Manager II, Manufacturing Engineering position plays a key role in driving organizational change and process improvement to achieve our business objectives. The Power Efficiency Solutions (PES) segment is seeking a business and manufacturing professional to drive the implementation of new technologies & best practices across our global manufacturing sites. This position is critical to facilitate collaboration with internal partners and to create capability to effectively support and grow the business.

Reporting to the Global Director - Manufacturing Engineering, this position is focused on the deployment of new Technologies and sharing Best Practices for the Continuous Improvement of our Manufacturing Processes as well as launch of new Products in each of our Global Manufacturing Sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage engineering initiatives based on Policy Deployment improvement priorities.
  • Guide technology initiative as a Manufacturing Process Subject Matter Expert (SME) for several of the following core processes for Electric Motor manufacturing; Stamping, Casting, Machining, Winding, Welding, Assembly, as well as any form of Automation.
  • Develop strategy for industrializing new Technologies across our manufacturing sites
  • Approve Capex projects and assist when strategic in the execution of specific projects.
  • Guide Manufacturing Sites & Application Engineering Teams when launching New Products
  • Ensure progress against projects, schedules, and budgets are maintained to accomplish goals.
  • Provide technical oversight and coordination of project engineering work.
  • Perform administrative and oversight functions in approving proposals, expenditures, and enforcing policies.
  • Work closely with Operations, Sourcing, & Technology teams to provide input and guidance on technical issues, Make vs Buy decisions, and Design for Manufacturability for new products
  • Interface with sales, application engineering, and manufacturing regarding customer technical requirements and specifications.
  • Develop strong personal relationships with internal and external customers and play a key role in providing VOC that will influence engineering strategy and priorities.
  • Provide leadership role in the Global Manufacturing Engineering Department.
  • Perform design calculations and prepare material specifications.
  • Make sketches, schematics, and CAD drawings to provide information to ensure that customer requirements are being met or improved.
  • Use a variety of engineering skills to assist in problem resolution, including but not limited to; problem solving skills, statistical methods and assorted computer hardware and software packages.


As a driver of Process Improvement:

  • Gain understanding of internal processes and procedures, identify and implement opportunities to streamline engineering workflow and increase engineering capacity.
  • Work with manufacturing departments to identify and implement productivity and efficiency improvements throughout the manufacturing processes, utilizing Regal Rexnord Business System (RBS) continuous improvement tools and concepts.
  • Investigate variables that may present process problems and find solutions.
  • Make recommendations regarding improved equipment / process design.
  • Research and develop new enhancements to meet the needs of specific customer Applications.
  • Devise and execute a methodology for discovering and analyzing new technology development relevant to our manufacturing sites processes.
  • Provide technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages which affect long range manufacturing plant performance.
  • Participation in overall plant decision making, policy setting, budget control and strategy development.
  • Along with other management members, shared accountability for Business Unit performance as related to annual and mid-term objectives. Builds relationships with other internal functions to facilitate timely issue resolution.
  • Comply with the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard.
  • The above-mentioned activities are not limited and may be extended to other cross-functional activities, when required by the Organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or other relevant technical or related field
  • 8-10 years minimum of results-oriented experience in Manufacturing
  • 3 years minimum experience supervising and providing direct technical leadership to multicultural engineering team

Travel: 25% USA / Mexico, 5% International

Expected Base Salary: $100,000-$140,000

The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for this position. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, the geographic market of that location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education and internal peer compensation comparisons among other potential factors.
