Finance Manager

Location: Portage, Indiana (Fully Onsite)
Salary: $115,000 – $125,000 + 15% Annual Bonus
Travel: Approximately 15%

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join a growing manufacturing organization in Portage, Indiana. This newly created role will play a critical part in financial planning, inventory accounting, tax compliance, and operational finance. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on finance leader who enjoys partnering with operations, purchasing, and executive leadership to drive business performance and support continued growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.

  • Analyze actual financial results versus budget and forecast, identifying key variances and business drivers.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company's cost structure and provide actionable financial insights to executive leadership.

  • Participate in monthly and quarterly physical inventory counts while ensuring accurate inventory accounting and valuation.

  • Collaborate with purchasing and operations teams to monitor inventory levels, analyze cost trends, and improve operational performance.

  • Oversee fixed asset accounting, capital expenditure tracking, depreciation schedules, and capital project reporting.

  • Manage all tax compliance activities, including tax filings, reporting, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Drive process improvements that strengthen internal controls, improve reporting accuracy, and increase operational efficiency.

  • Partner cross-functionally with finance, operations, and executive leadership to support strategic initiatives and company growth.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • CPA required.

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong expertise in inventory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and tax compliance.

  • Experience managing fixed assets, capital expenditures, and depreciation accounting.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or Microsoft Dynamics ERP systems required.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented manufacturing environment.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 15% as business needs require.
