About Lakeside Manufacturing

Lakeside Manufacturing is a trusted manufacturer of high-quality stainless steel equipment used in healthcare, foodservice, and industrial environments. We are committed to craftsmanship, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

We are seeking a Production Manager to lead our custom assembly and welding teams. This role focuses heavily on maximizing production efficiency and managing capacity while maintaining high quality and on-time delivery.

Key Focus of the Role

The primary responsibility of this position is to optimize production efficiency and manage production capacity to ensure the team consistently meets operational goals and customer demand.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and mentor production personnel in custom assembly and welding

  • Drive improvements in production efficiency and capacity utilization

  • Monitor and manage labor efficiency and cost of labor

  • Identify and address capacity constraints and lead-time risks

  • Ensure production schedules support on-time shipping goals

  • Track and manage operational metrics including:

    • Rework

    • Unapplied time

    • Training

    • Dollars per production hour

    • Absorption ratios

  • Maintain inventory accuracy and minimize material waste

  • Ensure product quality through inspections, tooling maintenance, and investigation of returns or warranty concerns

  • Develop team members through training and cross-training opportunities

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity

  • Ensure ISO compliance within production processes

  • Support ongoing manufacturing education, industry learning, and best practices

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Experience with Netsuite preferred

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
