Manufacturing Account information

How does a manufacturing account professional typically collaborate with production and supply chain teams?

Manufacturing Account professionals work closely with both production and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost tracking, inventory management, and financial reporting. They frequently coordinate with production managers to gather data on material usage and labor costs, and with supply chain teams to verify inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies. This collaborative approach helps maintain financial integrity and supports decision-making for process improvements and cost reductions. Effective communication and attention to detail are essential in this cross-functional role.

What is a manufacturing account?

A Manufacturing Account is a financial statement used by manufacturing businesses to calculate the total cost of producing goods over a specific period. It records all expenses related to the production process, such as raw materials, labor, and factory overheads. The account helps in determining the cost of goods manufactured, which is then transferred to the trading account to calculate gross profit. Understanding the Manufacturing Account is essential for businesses to assess production efficiency and cost control.

What does a manufacturing accountant do?

A manufacturing accountant is responsible for managing financial records related to production costs, budgeting, and inventory in manufacturing settings. They analyze cost data, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, often using tools like ERP systems. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of cost accounting are essential for this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a manufacturing account manager?

To thrive as a Manufacturing Account Manager, you need strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, sales principles, and account management, typically backed by a relevant degree in business or engineering. Familiarity with CRM software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools is commonly required in this role. Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills help you stand out when managing client needs and resolving issues. These abilities are essential for driving business growth, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining long-term client relationships in the competitive manufacturing sector.

We're not just seeking to change how our cars work - we're seeking to change the way we drive. At FF, we're creating something new, something connected, and something with a true global impact.

Your Role:

As the Key Account Manager - Industrial & Manufacturing you own FF EAI Robotics revenue in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and facility-operations accounts in your state region. You sell ROI-driven automation solutions built on the FX Aegis Max and FABER platforms (material handling, facility inspection, workflow automation), from paid pilot to fleet-scale deployment, with accountability for unit sales, revenue, and positive per-unit contribution margin.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect, develop, and close industrial and manufacturing accounts across the assigned state region
  • Build scenario-level ROI business cases (labor substitution, inspection coverage, throughput) together with the regional FAE
  • Drive the pilot-to-production motion: paid POC, technical demonstration, deployment, expansion, and multi-site rollout
  • Develop referenceable lighthouse deployments in material handling and facility inspection for the region
  • Maintain accurate pipeline in CRM with per-lead Jira tracking; meet the 48-hour first-touch SLA on assigned leads
  • Coordinate with the PAR Development Manager to hand off or co-serve dealer-covered industrial accounts
  • Provide monthly forecast inputs to the UES 3-month rolling forecast process

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of B2B capital-equipment or automation sales into manufacturing, intralogistics, or warehousing (robotics, AGV/AMR, material handling, or industrial equipment)
  • Proven consultative, ROI-based selling skills with plant managers, operations directors, and C-level buyers
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue quotas with margin accountability
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Existing network among regional manufacturers, 3PLs, or system integrators
  • Experience selling mobile robotics or automation-as-a-service / RaaS commercial models
  • Familiarity with safety and compliance requirements for robots in industrial environments

Perks + Benefits
