Position Summary: As a Night Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service and optimizing store operations under the guidance of the Assistant and Store Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing the store's performance to drive sales, profitability, and efficiency across various operational areas including inventory management, expense control, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities: (Responsibilities may vary depending on assignment.)
  • Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service.
  • Establish daily work assignments and priorities for store associates.
  • Ensure that the reporting and investigation of customer and employee injuries are handled properly.
  • Consistently reacts to performance issues with corrective action.
  • Assists with stocking of product and facing of the store.
  • Primarily performs all duties associated with nightly closing of the store but may also perform opening duties.
  • Manage front-end operations (monitoring customer flow, opening registers as needed, and managing breaks/lunches)
  • Perform basic housekeeping duties. (sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, etc.)
  • Operates manual and electric (18+ years old) pallet jack.
  • Receives and unloads truck deliveries.
  • Manage health and safety, security, and emergency systems, capabilities and staff and customer awareness, according to company policy and relevant law.
  • Manage upkeep and condition of all equipment, fixtures, etc. on premises.
  • Maintain knowledge of total store operations.
  • Assists in carryout and cashier duties when needed.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by manager.

Work Environment:
  • May be exposed to all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, ice and wind) as well as, inside work with variations in heat, cold, dust, and humidity.
  • Fast paced retail environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Moves, lifts, and carries merchandise and supplies weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Frequently reaches overhead and below the knees, including pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, bending, stooping, crouching, and twisting with or without bearing weight. Occasionally requires to climb and/or crawl.
  • Stands or walks continuously throughout the shift.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Primary: Front End & Grocery Associates, 20-50 associates.
  • Secondary: Subordinates of other departments, 10-50 associates.

Qualifications & Other Job Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a retail or grocery environment preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Minimum age requirement = 18 years old.
