Daikin Applied is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist. The EHS Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and administration of the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety programs. This role will work closely with the EHS team to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, Daikin requirements, and to promote a culture of safety throughout the site. Location: Staunton, VA - In-Office

Shift: 2nd shift

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections and audits of facilities and equipment to identify and address hazards and risks
  • Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Support and maintain chemical management documentation, new equipment, and approval process
  • Monitor and analyze EHS data, trends, and metrics to identify areas of improvement and support implementation of corrective actions
  • Assist the EHS leader in the preparation of EHS reports and presentations
  • Assist EHS leader in leading EHS committees and teams to drive continuous improvement
  • Support and maintain the improvements of EMS (ISO 14001) and SMS (ISO 45001) document control and systems
  • Conduct or coordinate training to educate employees about safety policies, laws, and best practices
  • Assist site supervisors in investigations of incidents and severe incidents to prevent recurrence
  • Assist in the collection of samples for different testing analysis (i.e. storm water, chemicals, etc.)
  • Assist in the conducting of risk assessments and recommend risk mitigation strategies
  • Provide EHS technical support for site specific initiative and projects
  • Promote Daikin's goal of zero accidents, emissions, etc.
  • Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations and industry best practices
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years related experience
  • Taproot and OSHA 30-hour certification (preferred)
