Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Base pay range $64,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr Taproot Foundation is a national nonprofit powering the next generation of pro bono service.

For more than 20 years, we've connected nonprofits with high-quality, high-trust support from skilled professionals — so they can meet urgent challenges, grow their impact, and lead with confidence. Today, we're expanding that vision. We're innovating our platform, deepening partnerships, and shaping a future-focused pro bono marketplace.

Our aim: a system that meets nonprofit needs with ease, speed, and excellence—lowering barriers to access, centering community voices, and embracing innovation, including AI. The Opportunity/Role Advisory Services is one of Taproot's flagship service offerings—a cornerstone of how we create social impact. For 15+ years, we've connected companies, philanthropies, skilled volunteers, and nonprofits through high-quality, custom pro bono engagements that tackle urgent challenges, strengthen organizations, and unlock lasting change.

This practice has helped tens of thousands of nonprofits access the expertise they need—while equipping over 100 companies and philanthropies with signature pro bono programs that build talent, engage teams, and strengthen communities. Reporting to a Managing Consultant, you will be at the center of Taproot's pro bono engagements—managing the full implementation of client projects, from design through execution. You'll serve as a trusted partner to corporate clients and nonprofit leaders alike, overseeing projects, facilitating engagements, and ensuring that Taproot consistently delivers high-quality service.

Depending on your location, this role will include up to 25% travel. This role blends execution with leadership: you will own individual workstreams, act as a key player on the project teams, and contribute to business development efforts that sustain Taproot's Advisory Services practice. The ideal candidate brings curiosity, initiative, and a forward mindset—leveraging tools, including emerging AI solutions, to strengthen insights, improve operations, and amplify organizational impact.

Key Responsibilities Project Management and Service Delivery Manage the end-to-end implementation of multiple concurrent client engagements, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and to Taproot's quality standards. Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for clients, corporate volunteers, and nonprofit partners. Facilitate virtual and in-person pro bono events and sessions, ensuring high levels of engagement and alignment.

Produce or guide the development of presentations, toolkits, reports, and communications that support client goals. Track engagement performance data and contribute to reporting and analysis. Leverage technology and tools (including emerging AI solutions) to streamline delivery, strengthen insights, and amplify program impact.

Lead project teams on specific engagements, coordinating Associates and cross‐functional colleagues to deliver strong outcomes. Utilize AI tools to improve data tracking, enhance project insights, and streamline reporting, ensuring alignment with client objectives. Client Relationship Management Build strong, trusted relationships with client stakeholders, nonprofit participants, and volunteers.

Represent Taproot in client meetings and communications, with professionalism and clarity. Actively contribute to client development efforts, including renewal and expansion conversations, scoping of new engagements, and supporting proposal development. Achieve targets related to client engagement renewals and expansions to support practice sustainability.

Apply an equity and inclusion lens in client interactions, ensuring that diverse perspectives and needs are considered in all engagement phases. Business Development and Field Building Participate in business development efforts across the lifecycle, collaborating with Managing Consultants and Strategic Partnerships on new client opportunities. Support Taproot's external visibility by contributing to thought leadership efforts, such as case studies, webinars, and sector events.

Represent Taproot at client meetings and community events. Team Collaboration and Leadership At times, lead project teams by setting direction, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and driving accountability for results. Foster collaboration and bring out the best in team members, volunteers, and partners, even when not in a formal people manager role.

Model Taproot's values of inclusion, excellence, and shared learning in all interactions. Operations and Practice Building Use internal tools and systems to manage workflows, documentation, and communications. Identify and suggest improvements to tools, templates, and processes.

Participate in team‐wide retrospectives, learning sessions, and planning initiatives. Bring a technology‐forward mindset, experimenting with and adopting tools (including AI) that increase team efficiency and effectiveness. Engage in cross‐functional projects and organizational initiatives, bringing insights from Advisory Services to inform Taproot's enterprise strategy and effectiveness.

Job Requirements What You Bring 4–7 years of relevant experience in consulting, program management, corporate social responsibility, or nonprofit capacity building. Proven ability to manage complex, multi‐stakeholder projects from start to finish, with strong attention to detail, prioritization, and timely execution. Strong client relationship management skills and experience navigating corporate and nonprofit environments with professionalism and clarity.

Exceptional facilitation and communication skills, comfortable engaging diverse audiences in virtual and in‐person settings. Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and foster team collaboration. Experience supporting proposals and renewals tailored to the audience's needs.

Analytical, data‐driven mindset with experience tracking outcomes and using insights to inform decisions. Technology‐forward approach, with curiosity and initiative to experiment with new tools—including AI—to improve efficiency and impact. Flexibility and initiative to thrive in a fast‐paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment.

Commitment to Taproot's mission and values, including pragmatic optimism, impact orientation, playful professionalism, and progress. To Apply Please submit your resume and response to this question: When you think about the challenges nonprofits face today, where do you see the biggest opportunity for Taproot's mission—and how could you uniquely contribute to that work given your past experience and interests?
