Speech Language Pathologist / SLP Specialist

Transform Lives and Inspire Connections in Beautiful St. Petersburg – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist

Imagine a career where your daily efforts empower others to express themselves and overcome barriers. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the stunning coastal city of St. Petersburg, your role transcends providing therapy for communication and swallowing disorders; it's about inspiring confidence, igniting potential, and building meaningful relationships. You will work with individuals from all walks of life, helping toddlers articulate their first words and assisting seniors in regaining their independence and voice.

This opportunity allows you to make a difference across various age groups in a dynamic setting that combines outpatient therapy with occasional support for inpatient cases. Whether your passion lies in pediatric speech development, adult neurogenic disorders, or geriatric cognitive rehabilitation, you'll experience fulfilling work that fits your interests and expertise.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, employing standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Craft personalized treatment strategies that address both immediate objectives and long-term communication or swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver focused speech therapy interventions, targeting areas such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, and physicians, to ensure integrated care approaches.
  • Provide necessary education for patients and their families to facilitate progress during therapy and at home.
  • Manage occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, maintaining a seamless care experience for everyone involved.
  • Document patient progress accurately and promptly, adhering to all relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Engage in continued education to stay abreast of new techniques and insights in the field.

Educational Qualifications

  • An accredited Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.

Licensure and Certifications

  • State license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.

Key Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-informed treatment methodologies for a diverse range of ages and conditions related to speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to tailor therapy techniques for various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment and innovative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Capable of efficiently navigating electronic medical records and documentation protocols.

Benefits Package

  • Competitive salary, reflecting your experience.
  • Flexible work scheduling to accommodate your life outside of work.
  • Specialization opportunities in pediatric, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric practices.
  • Paid time off and holiday remuneration.
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage options available.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative environment that values quality care and ongoing learning.
A Career That Empowers You – and Those You Serve

In this position, you won't simply deliver speech therapy; you'll become an integral part of a collective mission aimed at translating silence into sound, enhancing conversations, and creating joyful moments through the fundamental acts of connection and understanding.

You'll be surrounded by peers who regard each other as family, within a culture emphasizing collaboration rather than competition. Every person you treat has a story and we'll count on you to help narrate it.

From an employment perspective, St. Petersburg also offers favorable economic conditions—all without a state income tax, and with a cost of living that invites growth and stability in one's professional life. In an area flourishing with opportunities, your career could blossom just as beautifully as the landscapes that surround you.

Whether you're new to the realm of speech-language pathology or an experienced clinician seeking to expand your impact, this location provides an exceptional environment for professional and personal development.

Who Should Apply

We invite applications from compassionate Speech Language Pathologists who are driven not just by results, but by heartfelt connections. You might envision the shy child blossoming into an articulate speaker; you might perceive resilience in a stroke survivor's tentative attempts to communicate.

Whatever your passion may be, if you're eager to serve with dedication and lead your practice with empathy, we're excited to welcome you to our team.
