Description:

As a Field Trainer at FAT Brands, you are the hands-on instructor responsible for delivering effective training and professional development to new franchisees, managers, and existing restaurant personnel. You will conduct training sessions, demonstrate best practices, and provide direct coaching and feedback to trainees in the field. Your role focuses on the execution of training programs, ensuring trainees acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for successful operation. You are a self-starter, highly confident in your presentation and training skills, with an engaging personality and the ability to build rapport quickly. Flexibility for travel, both domestically and internationally, is essential, as is adaptability to varying training schedules.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements training and education programs for new franchisees, managers, and existing restaurant personnel on company standards, processes, and policies for FAT Brands restaurants.
  • Conducts training with restaurant personnel to improve their knowledge and skills to better service our guests.
  • Provides hands-on training and demonstrations of operational procedures, customer service techniques, and product preparation.
  • Ensures trainees are proficient in the use of restaurant equipment and technology, and that they understand and adhere to all safety and sanitation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with the onboarding process for new hires and franchisees, providing initial training and support, as well as conducting post-training follow-up to reinforce learning.
  • Provides constructive feedback and coaching to trainees to improve performance and address areas for development.
  • Responsible for teaching training classes in person and virtually.
  • Analyzes the performance of trainees and assures that all existing restaurant personnel are trained according to company standards.
  • Maintains current knowledge of new training methods and techniques and incorporates them into each of the brands' Training Programs.
  • Reviews field information while remaining current on all company programs/products to support franchisees.
  • Completes training records for each training session using approved forms and submits training records to the Sr. Director of Training & Ops Services weekly or as requested.
  • Facilitates Train the Trainer sessions as needed.
  • Acts as a corporate training liaison in the field, reporting training needs and issues to the corporate team as required.
  • Travels to locations to deliver training and oversee new restaurant openings.
  • Supports the Field Training Team with the development of instructional materials for participants of each respective brand's training program.
  • Works alongside both Corporate and Franchise Restaurant General Managers to maintain brand standards for Certified Training Restaurants
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience as a Restaurant Manager or Trainer for a restaurant company.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective training sessions using a variety of instructional methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching to trainees.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally on projects within all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Flexible and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before franchise owners, upper-level management, or employees of the restaurant.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions/percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic math and algebra.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and provide feedback to trainees.
  • Proficiency in restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Learning Management systems is preferred.
  • ServSafe Certified.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including food preparation, customer service, and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate and teach operational best practices.
  • Ability to effectively utilize and explain training materials, including manuals, videos, and job aids.
  • Ability to observe and evaluate trainee performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ability to travel frequently, including overnight and extended stays, both domestically and internationally.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • In-depth knowledge of the company's brand standards, products, and services.and services.
