Sr. Manager, Project Management - Card Delivery and Planning Team (Hybrid)

The Team

Our delivery team within the Card Delivery and Planning team is looking for a dynamic Sr. Manager of Project Management. Card Planning and Delivery is a part of the Card Command Center organization and leads the delivery for some of Card and Personal Loans highest priority initiatives. In this exciting role, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver and amplify Card's most impactful work, solve complex problems from our distinct vantage point, all while balancing strategy and tactics. Our project work runs the gamut, some examples are: launching new products, leading new business integrations or leading platform modernizations.

The Role

As a Sr. Manager of Project Management in Card Planning and Delivery, you will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company's bottom line. You will lead important and exciting projects from day one, working alongside key stakeholders across the company. Although the opportunities are endless, the core responsibilities of a Sr. Manager of Project Management include:

  • Design, develop, and manage project plans and delivery roadmaps in a complex dynamic and time-sensitive environment

  • Partner with project stakeholders to provide strategic and tactical recommendations in support of project delivery

  • Drive solutions to complex problems across cross-functional teams by applying sound business judgment to navigate trade-offs between competing priorities

  • Effectively manage scope, schedule, resources and budget and communicate status, impediments, and risks/issues across all levels of the program

  • Deliver results and influence business outcomes across all levels of the organization

  • Influence and manage stakeholders/Intent owners across COF ranging from associate to VP+

The person will:

  • Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts

  • Be an excellent storyteller using data to strengthen recommendations

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to thrive in gray space and quickly putting structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment

  • Able to navigate project management tasks autonomously while understanding when and how to engage in escalation

  • Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes

  • Appreciate and embrace well-managed program and governance structures

  • Confident, respectful, and articulate when registering dissenting opinions with colleagues and senior management

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering or interacting with internal business clients

  • At least 5 years of Process Management or Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or MBA

  • 4+ years of experience with project management tools (Jira, MS Project, Confluence)

  • 6+ years of experience working, supporting or partnering with internal business clients

  • 6+ years of Process Management or Project Management experience

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Richmond, VA: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr Manager, Project Management


Riverwoods, IL: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr Manager, Project Management









Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
