The Project Manager is expected to lead all aspects (project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality, communication and cost) medium to high complexity, multi-faceted technology projects. May provide individual work stream project management in complex to very complex projects or programs. Expected to solve more complex problems, drive business meetings to define the problem, elicit requirements, craft the story and benefits. Can apply knowledge of multiple methodologies, tools and templates and is able to create and maintain work products. Expected to understand the impacts of resource management, staffing and capacity. Must be proficient with project repositories and Agile tools (Jira, Confluence or equivalent) for better visibility, planning and controls.

This role may be responsible for mentoring and influencing project management practices and aid in the on-boarding of new employees.

Responsibilities
  • Independently implements medium to high complexity projects from concept through final implementation, as well as ensures that the programs are aligned with the BBW strategies and standards

  • Ensures the strategic alignment and success of major initiatives and projects spanning multiple business units or organizations

  • Implement performance standards; provides appropriate performance and mentoring / coaching, where applicable, to assist project team members as well as direct reports in achieving success

  • Creates and implements projects plans that may involve multiple disciplines in the technology field; leads project teams in the development and implementation of detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports

  • Defines, leads and delivers successful integration and dependency management capability across the various requests and projects

  • Monitors / assesses project progress; drives communications, status reporting, management reporting and executive presentations

  • Facilitates resolution, mitigation and appropriate escalation of action items, scope changes, risks and issues to senior leadership

  • Defines, leads and delivers successful vendor management capability across the various projects

  • Gathers and analyzes data to identify trends that support insight to potential issues and inconsistencies; anticipates and identifies issues inhibiting successful project delivery

  • Is an expert in all project methodologies and has the knowledge to assess which methodologies to deploy within a project

  • Understands how to create and deploy an effective governance model for complex initiatives.

  • Supports culture related priorities and execution across the PMO that is consistent within the organization and demonstrates innovation while doing so

  • Point of escalation for Project team members; coaches less experienced team members; leads by example

  • Facilitates the on-boarding of new associates and consultants

  • 5-7 years of experience with 4 years of specialty in Project Management including exposure to Waterfall, Iterative and Agile methodologies

  • Solid project and process management skills with ability to effectively lead globally in an environment of ambiguity and change

  • Demonstrates knowledge of business, retail and technology fundamentals through an understanding of how business processes and technology intersect

  • Applies critical thinking to proactively identify / mitigate risk and minimize issue occurrence for successful project delivery and business analysis

  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills to interact with all levels of the company as well as external parties; streamlines partner communications; concisely presents complex information/recommendations in terms meaningful to various audiences

  • Highly developed curiosity and desire to learn, strong analytical and logical thinking skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, work well independently and within a team environment

  • Ability to manage through conflict
